Spring Yard Work, Part 2

The next most important work to be done on your property in the late winter is to rake out your lawn. But, you say, “The leaves were cleaned up last fall. Why rake again?”

With your lawn being dormant, it’s time to remove the thatch (a fancy term for dead grass). So give your lawn a good, hard raking. You’ll be surprised how much dead grass comes up. You are making room for the new sprouts of grass to fill in. Your grass can now breathe, so to speak. You will notice a difference in how thick and healthy your lawn will look in June. All because you thatched now!
